The Basics
Sea Duck Cottage is located in Jonesport, Maine.
Jonesport is located on the Downeast section of Maine’s Bold Coast on a peninsula served by Route 187, 10 miles from US Route 1, easily reached from Bangor or Calais.
Jonesport, Maine is about 45 minutes from Ellsworth, Maine
Bangor, Maine is about 90 minutes. International Airport BGR is located in Bangor with several commercial airlines serving BGR. Summertime is very busy with extra flights from all the major airlines.
An alternate route to Jonesport, Maine is the scenic drive on Route 9 from I-95 in Bangor, via Deblois and Cherryfield on Route 193 to US Route 1.

Sea Duck Cottage is a 7 day rental with arrival/departure on Saturday.
Sea Duck Cottage in Maine is a beautiful peaceful home located right on the water. Gorgeous 180 degree views of the Atlantic and Bay of Maine. Water is crystal clear and blue and there is a beach for easy access.
The water can be colder – so prepare for warmer beach clothes.
Arcadia National Park is an easy drive from Sea Duck Cottage – and a must see. Summertime weekends can be busy so plan ahead! Hiking, Bar Harbor and cruise ships, whale watching tours, Cadillac Mountain, world renown lobster rolls, and more.
There are whale watching tours and fishing expeditions close by – we will share the highly rated ones.
Sea Duck Cottage is equipped for all modern living while giving you peace to “get away from noise, traffic, chaos”.
High speed wifi is available, tv with Netflix is available, fully equipped kitchen and much more.
We take cleaning serious. We follow a 5 step cleaning process EVERYTIME a guest(s) leave and before a new guest(s) arrive.
- Ventilate the rooms/house before and during cleaning
- Use disinfectants approved by local registered agencies for use against Covid.
- Everyone who cleans washes/disinfects their hands.
- Sweep, vacuum, dust and/or mop before sanitizing
- Wash dishes, laundry at high heat settings
- wipe down and spray surfaces with approved disinfectant spray touched the most (i.e. remotes, door knobs, light switches)
During your Stay At Sea Duck Cottage
Sea Duck Cottage furnished and ready for your family and/or group.
We have linens, towels, kitchen utensils, basic spices, dishes, glasses and more for you to enjoy your stay at Sea Duck Cottage.
Let us know if you would like to ship or order any special food, items and have them delivered before you arrive. We will gladly put packages inside ready for your arrival.
Fourth of July is a huge celebration for this area of Maine. Lobster boats galore and lots of fireworks and fun. The weather is extraordinary during July with highs in the upper 70s. It can get chilly after the sun goes down, so yes, bring a jacket for those evenings out by the fire pit enjoying the sky full of stars and brisk ocean air.
Jonesport Pizza Shop is located right on Main Street in Jonesport. Handmade pizzas, subs, breakfast and more at this long-time, local favorite.
Open Monday thru Saturday.
Mannafords Grocery Store – close to Sea Duck Cottage and a locally owned and operated grocery store with all the food/beverage essentials you will need. Remember, you can order anything off Amazon or Walmart and have it delivered to Sea Duck Cottage. We will onsite to receive and put inside.
Location and Pre-Trip Planning
Sea Duck Cottage is located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the upper NE part of Maine.
BGR (Bangor International Airport) is about 75 min away. The best way is to drive through the gorgeous scenery of Maine.
Sea Duck Cottage is located in Washington County and the town of Jonesport, Maine.
Off Highway 1, it is about 15 miles east to the waterfront property. Kelley Point Rd is a street accessible by all online maps and our Private Road is just off Kelley Point Road in Jonesport, Maine.
You will get the google map marker when you make your reservation at Sea Duck Cottage.
Parking is ample and uncovered at Sea Duck Cottage. There is a gravel private road leading to Sea Duck Cottage, and a paved driveway to Main House and gravel driveway to Guest House.
Main House: there is a step to the front porch/front door at the Main House.
Guest House: One step up to entry of Guest House.
The Guest house does have an upstairs living area with a bedroom, king bed, study/den area.
We have a Packing List for all guests who reserve the cottage. This list gets updated frequently so once you book – you’ll have access to additional information that will be specific to your time at Sea Duck Cottage.
If you are traveling with your dog, please bring their bowls, food, leash, toys, bed, bags, etc.
Special dietary needs or vitamins, please bring with you there are grocery stores but limited in variety and supplies.
PETS and CHILDREN
Sea Duck Cottage is a dog friendly property. Maximum 2 dogs. You must let us know before hand if dogs will be joining you.
There is a pet fee that must be paid before you arrive.
We ask that you DO NOT let your dog(s) on the furniture or beds.
Please clean up after your dogs – thank you!
And please bring any food, bedding, toys – Sea Duck Cottage does not come equipped with pet supplies.
Yes, children are welcome and will enjoy the wonderful outdoors of Sea Duck Cottage.
Located on a private property with a large yard and easy access down to the beach, Sea Duck Cottage is perfect for your family vacation.
Please note – there is NO LIFEGUARD on the property. There is no gate on the stairs that lead down to the beach area.
Please exercise caution with children near the water.
